Town Hall Consultations Engagement Forum On Securing Documentation For Refugees - Makindye Division, Uganda

During the recent hybrid consultative forum on refugee leadership from RLOs and participation, the need to engage communities more directly on the theme of “Securing Documentation Campaign for Refugees” emerged as a top priority.

This town hall meeting will serve as a platform to gather refugee perspectives, inform communities about ongoing advocacy efforts (including participation in the Securing ID Advisory Board), and mobilize grassroots support to push for reforms and access. This Community Engagement Forum, led by IRC in partnership with RLOs, CSOs, and other refugee leaders, aims to create a dedicated space for these key actors to define the problem and co-create solutions.

By bringing their voices to the forefront, the forum will produce a comprehensive, evidence-based report that will serve as the foundation for advocacy efforts with policymakers and government agencies. The initiative is built on a solutions-oriented mindset, moving beyond merely identifying problems to crafting actionable, community-driven recommendations.

The event will be held on Tuesday, 12th August 2025 at Makindye Division, Kampala, Uganda.
