Policymaker Seminar – Uganda

As part of the 2025 Securing Documentation Campaign, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), will host a high-level policy dialogue aimed at addressing documentation barriers affecting refugees in Uganda.
This important convening will bring together:
Political representatives from key state departments
Executive and technical staff from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)
Labor officials
Policy advisers and practitioners
Representatives from Industrial Associations
Key actors from the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA)
Participants will engage in dialogue around draft information guides and explore proposed refugee-responsive solutions. The session will culminate in formal commitments and pledges from stakeholders, which will be documented and monitored throughout the remainder of the campaign.
This dialogue is a critical step in aligning policy action with community-driven priorities and ensuring inclusive access to legal documentation for refugee populations across Uganda.
The event will be held on Tuesday, 12th August 2025 at Kampala, Uganda.
