Vocational Training

From 2021 to 2025, Re:BUiLD experimented with different service options to support individual clients to either find jobs or start/grow their own businesses, while managing financial risks.

 

About Us Banner - Re:BUiLD Re:BUiLD partnered with Vocational Training Institutes to provide market demanded skills to clients to equip them with practical skills for the job market. Upon completion of the technical training the program provided support on job readiness and entrepreneurship skills to enhance their access to job opportunities. The areas clients were trained on include green energy, beauty and cosmetics, textile, digital skills, mechanics, catering creative arts, electrical installation, solar among others. 

 

Progress to date

By December of 2025 in Nairobi, a total of 104 clients (67 female, 35 male, 2 other) received vocational training services, including 657 refugees and 387 host community members. According to the wage employment survey results, 48% of these clients have gained wage employment, with 22% securing formal salaried positions, 20% engaged in casual labor and 52% engaging in self-employment.

In Kampala by December 2025, a total of 949 clients (637 female, 312 male) received vocational training services, including 586 refugees and 363 host community members.
