Re:BUiLD Program Celebration Conference 2025

The International Rescue Committee, the Kampala Capital City Authority and the IKEA Foundation are pleased to invite you to the Program Celebration Conference of the Refugees in East Africa: Boosting Urban Innovations for Livelihoods Development (Re:BUiLD) Program.

Over the last 4.5 years of implementation, the Re:BUiLD Program has generated evidence and learnings on livelihood solutions for urban refugees and vulnerable nationals in Kampala and Nairobi. The conference is being held to bring together stakeholders to celebrate the journey travelled and share learnings from the practices and approaches that were tested through the Re:BUiLD program towards economic self-reliance for urban refugees and vulnerable host community members.  

The conference, therefore, offers an exciting opportunity to learn more from the Re:BUiLD team, urban refugees, vulnerable communities, policy makers and researchers.  The conference seeks to harness reflections and strengthen partnerships among participants, on sustainable approaches for cities and urban areas to promote economic self-reliance for refugees and vulnerable nationals. 

The event will be held on from Tuesday, 14th October 2025 to Wednesday 15th October2025 at Mestil Hotel & Residences, Kampala, Uganda. .
