High-Level Policy Dialogue on Refugees’ Access to Decent Work and Documentation in Kenya

As part of the 2025 Securing Documentation Campaign, the Refugee Consortium of Kenya (RCK), International Rescue Committee(IRC) and Heinrich BÖII Stiftung ,Horn of Africa, in collaboration with the Department of Refugee Services (DRS), will host a high-level policy dialogue aimed at addressing documentation barriers affecting refugees in Kenya.
This important convening will bring together:
Political representatives from key state departments
Executive and technical staff from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)
Labor officials
Policy advisers and practitioners
Representatives from Industrial Associations
Key actors from the Nairobi City County Government (NCCG)
Participants will engage in dialogue around draft information guides and explore proposed refugee-responsive solutions. The session will culminate in formal commitments and pledges from stakeholders, which will be documented and monitored throughout the remainder of the campaign.
This dialogue is a critical step in aligning policy action with community-driven priorities and ensuring inclusive access to legal documentation for refugee populations across Kenya
The event will be held from Thursday, 30th October 2025 to Friday, 31st October 2025 at Kajiado, Kenya.
