How did you join the Re:BUiLD team?

I joined the Re:BUiLD team due to the motivation to contribute to economic self-reliance for urban refugees and vulnerable host communities in Kampala and Nairobi and have been with the program since 2021.

What’s a typical day like for you?

On a normal workday I wake up at 6:00 and prepare for thirty minutes then take a walk to office thirty more minutes and be at office 8:00 am. I start the day off by checking my emails, this way I can reply to emails I may not have answered the previous day and get everything organized at the start of the day. I then look over my to-do list and get started on the activities that have my top priority and retire from work between 5:30 – 6:00 pm.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Interacting with clients and seeing the impact Re:BUiLD is creating in the lives of the urban refugees and vulnerable host committees manifested increased business ownership, incomes and the number of working days which resulting into improve livelihoods for clients.

What is your greatest achievement/thing you are most proud from your work at Re:BUiLD?

Providing support and mentorship to direct reports which has improved their performance and resulted into some of them taking on additional responsibilities.

What would you like your colleagues to know about your work?

The attitude of resilience, teamwork and flexibility.

Do you have any hobbies or favorite pastimes outside of work?

Watching football, making friends and celebrating birthdays.

Who’s been your favorite mentor?

Re:BUilD Program Director has she has always provided guidance, support and encouraged knowledge transfer and sharing between Kampala and Nairobi.
